Have you ever thought about your spirit and your physical body being connected so much that it is in unity? Our spirit health is reflected in our physical being and our mentality as well. It is all connected to make up a complete human form. Notice in a physical body if we do not nourish or care for it then it becomes ill. This is true of the mental and spiritual state as well. There are so many stigmatisms over mental health. The truth is our mental state is directly seen in our overall physical state. It is all connected. Our spiritual state is seen in the effects and displaying of the mental state and so forth. A complete human has three parts. Mind, spirit, and body make up these, which are Mental, Spiritual, and Physical. It is a delicate balancing act to maintain optimal health. Neglect one we neglect them all. We cannot neglect our spirit, or it becomes weak and is reflected in our thoughts or vocalized opinions and attitudes. Proverbs 4:23-27 KJV “Keep thy heart with diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a forward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”

Proverbs 4:23-27 MSG “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch and smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.”

We must feed our spirit as we feed our physical body. Most of us understand this concept. However, many times we overlook our emotional portion of ourselves. A lot of times we push emotions down and rarely deal with them. We believe somehow it is out of sight and out of mind. This is the farthest from the truth. We may become severely physically ill when we neglect the upkeep of our mental health. As we age, we see a lot of times things that have not been dealt with earlier in life come back to the forefront of our minds. It is necessary to deal with these emotions in a healthy capacity. Our bodies hold memories and our hearts and minds do not forget. This is why it is so necessary to carry no offense, bitterness, or anger. We must be able to commit these to Jesus Christ. He alone carries these burdens. Matthew 11:28-30 KJV “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11: 28-30 MSG “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me---watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

We are to carry no offense, remain humble, and be kind. We speak the truth in love, not in arrogance and pride. We are no better than anyone else. Who are we to withhold grace? God freely gives us His only begotten son to die upon a cross for our salvation and reconciliation back to Him. Jesus gives us GRACE. He gives us MERCY, HOPE, and a new life. We are to love others to Him through our witness and light to guide them home to Him. We can not think exalted thoughts that we are better than those suffering. It was not too long ago the Lord picked us up out of the mire, dirt, and filth of the world and cleaned us up. Give grace and love freely. Love with all of your hearts. Guard yourself from arrogance and pride. Commit to pray for everyone. Pray because a prayer may be the answer to someone’s life turning to Jesus Christ and the difference in an eternity in Hell separated from God forever. We must fill our hearts with Life words and hope of God. His word is sharper than any two-edged sword. We need to remain in His word and be filled with His presence so we may pour out to others and a dying hurting world in need of a savior. Make time for Him and reflect and fellowship with Him, giving Him the first fruits of the day. Start each day with a heart of gratitude and our sights on the eternal kingdom of God and we will make differences in lives for Him. Walk in love. Be quick to forgive and do not carry hatred, bitterness, anger, and strife in your heart. This causes the body to become ill and is like a cancer is slowly destroys you from the inside out. Let it go. It is not for others but yourself. Forgiveness works the miraculous and reconciles the broken. Awaken each day with an attitude of gratitude. Remember most of the time when we encounter others that are cruel and mean we must see past that person and see the spirit they are walking in. We all have been guilty of offending and hurting others. We should guard our hearts and minds, our mouths and attitudes. John 15:12-13 KJV “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

This picture is an example of neglect in the physical. Not that you can see it in this picture here but this used to be a source of great joy. This was a family swimming pool. Over the years it was not kept up and fell into decay and rot. A slip through a series of spring storms destroyed a portion of the deck and it was forgotten. Sad but true, our lives are a representation of our values, our perspectives, our attitudes and beliefs. What we conclude is the evidence in our portrait within the mirror of truth perceived daily when we look within the mirror of truth, GODS WORD. :)
